Interview with the star of Mordred, Rich Sandford

Rich Sandford is a 29 years old actor and freelance model for Torquay, England. He started his acting career with the South Devon Players, debuting in the stage version of Les Miserables. Since then he fell in love with acting.

Rich Sandford is currently staring in “Mordred” a stage show and feature film. “Mordred” is a drama film based on the legends of Mordred, the evil knight of Arthurian legend starring Rich Sandford (Mordred) and Guillaume Rivaud (King Arthur), directed by Laura Jay.

Interview with Rich Sandford

NY Elite: What projects are you currently working on?

Rich Sandford: We shall be starting work on the Mordred film and stage show in the coming months, also we are in the early stages of planning a web-series of Les Miserables.

NY Elite: What do you love about the character that you play?

Rich Sandford: I love that the character is misunderstood and little is known about him so I can really put my own mark on the character

NY Elite: How do you connect to this character?

Rich Sandford: I find a strong connection to this character. I can easily get myself into the head-space of the person.

NY Elite: Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?

Rich Sandford: It would have to be the confrontation between Mordred and King Arthur

NY Elite: How is this production bringing something new to this story?

Rich Sandford: It is very exciting as we are drawing on some of the little known versions of the tale and showing the flip-side of the story.

NY Elite: What’s it like working with director Laura Jay?

Rich Sandford: Laura Jay is a wonder to work with, she has a fantastic vision and is also happy to allow cast and crew to give ideas and opinions as well.

NY Elite: What’s going to surprise people about this show/movie?

Rich Sandford: I think maybe the surprise would be in seeing things from Mordred’s point of view.

NY Elite: Besides yourself, which actor/actress in this production is going to blow people away?

Rich Sandford: Honestly, I believe that every member of this project is going to be top-notch.

NY Elite: What has been your favorite film you have been part of?

Rich Sandford: If I had to pick it would have to be the Hunger Games fan-film we made in 2015.

NY Elite: Where else have you played leading role?

Rich Sandford: This is my first leading role and I am honoured to have been cast and can’t wait to get started.

NY Elite: What other types of movies would you be interested in filming?

Rich Sandford: I personally love a bit of every genre so anything I can be part of really.

NY Elite: What hidden talents do you have? 

Rich Sandford: Well I am pretty good at swordfighting, poetry and dancing.

NY Elite: What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

Rich Sandford: If you have a real passion for acting and want to pursue a career in it then start now, even if it’s not major roles to start with it’s all experience that will serve you well.

NY Elite: What can we expect from you in 2016?

Rich Sandford: Quite honestly, anything is possible.
