ABOUT CARL BEMBRIDGE:
Carl Bembridge: About me…I’m 25 years old I’m from Bristol and I really am the boy next door but with an added sugar! I really do love what I do, my job isn’t a job to me it’s my everyday passion. I love making people look and feel good! As well as that I am dedicated, professional, motivated & such a positive person. I thrive off reaching for success and creating a name for myself. I like climbing my way up the ladder and really being the best I can. I work hard but at the same time love every minute of it because if I don’t enjoy it what’s the point? Having goals and dreams is what drives me and my determination is what I hold on to.
WHY DID CARL BECOME A HAIRSTYLIST
Carl Bembridge: I always had a fascination with HAIR! I can remember I asked for a Pocahontas barbie for Christmas when I was 5 or 6 years old and my mum said it’s the best thing she ever got me. I remember I swished her hair around all day and put it in different styles. I also loved watching my mum do her own hair and always wanted to go to the hairdresser when my mum or sister were getting their hair done. It’s just ME.
HOW DID CARL START IN THE INDUSTRY:
Carl Bembridge: It began with work experience in school when I was 15, I wasn’t going to choose a hairdressers because the other boys made fun of me but I knew it was my thing so went forward with it anyway. I’m so glad I did because I then got offered a Saturday job at the salon called Cohesion. The boss and the staff their noticed and said I had a flare and they couldn’t let me go …. I still work there to this day 10 years later. I did an apprenticeship which meant I went to college 1 day a week and the rest of the week in the salon and I knew I was at the right place. I qualified and went on to do further courses and competitions growing a name for myself. Since then I’ve started to try my best to build a name for myself offering to do hair on my days off for photo shoots and getting my hands stuck in at any hair events.
Last year I took a step forward in my career of becoming self employed and starting my brand Carl Bembridge Hair. It feels like my baby and it’s all about my work and I can show it off in the best way I can and represent myself and my passion through Carl Bembridge Hair.
Carl Bembridge: I get my inspiration from magazines, TVs, I love hair watching on the streets or even clothes shops I think what hair would I put with that outfit. Also celebrity’s are great for setting trends and also music videos have top hair styles.

Carl Bembridge: My memorable moment was when I got the chance to style hair for my 1st celebrity Katie Price. I can remember being so happy so nervous and so gobsmacked & when I walked away after doing her hair I just couldn’t believe it & felt really proud of myself and couldn’t wait to show my mum the pictures as we as a family were also big fans.
Carl Bembridge: Working with celebrities is amazing because you get to see what they are like in real life not what you see or read on tv or magazine. I have been lucky I haven’t had any divas and all the the celebrity clients have been lovely and a pleasure to work with.
