Rapper The Rain (Antonio Washington) was born in Queens, New York on July 8, 1981 and was raised in South Jamaica Housing Project. He is the son of a Jazz musician, Isaac Washington. The Rain wrote his rhymes about his life staying on the positive note growing up in the projects. His musical influences include: LL Cool J, Run DMC, BIG, Tupac, Nas, Rakiem, Puff Daddy and Jay-Z.
The Rain ventured off into the acting field in Commercials and Movies. In 2011 he produced a TV show “Kicking it With Rosie” and in 2012 he produced his own show “On The Grind” TV show with special guest Ice T & Coco, Shelia, Bugsy and Dr. Bob Lee from WBLS-Radio, Rev Al Sharpton, Hurricane, Female Comedian S’more, just to name few.
In 2013 The Rain put out a single “It’s About To Go Down”, which reached critical acclaim. He has performed shows around and out of NYC and was the host VJ for Rep Time Radio. He always knew he had something special with a lot of talent.
In 2016 The Rain decided to come back into JMJ Recording studio with super producer Teardrop. Now he’s working on his new LP (Come Ride With ME) with the single “So Simple” released on iTunes, Amazon and all digital stores, with a music video on youtube. Currently the Rain is on a promo media tour in New York, Pittsburgh, NC and DC.

NY Elite: Tell us a little about yourself as an artist.
The Rain: I’m a positive Rapper from Jamaica Queens. I love to uplift people with my music.
NY Elite: How did you get started and how would you describe your music?
The Rain: I got started listing to my mom playing here oldies when I grew up. I always used to go to the park in Queens where Run DMC, LL Cool J use to rhyme on the mic. Right then and there I knew I was going to be a rapper.
NY Elite: What does art mean to you?
The Rain: Art is a way of my life and I love to make people feel good with my music.
NY Elite: What projects are you currently working on?
The Rain: I’m currently working on my Album “Come Ride with Me”. I am also on a promo media Tour. Just came back from Pittsburgh. Heading to North Carolina, Washington DC, and New York.
NY Elite: Where was your last performance?
The Rain: My Last Performance was in Pittsburgh opening up for Beanie Seagial and Freeway, J.Z Artist.
NY Elite: Where would you most like to perform and tell us about some of your favorite projects you have been part of.
The Rain: I would love to perform Madison square Garden.
NY Elite: If you could try a new genre of music, what would it be?
The Rain: I listen to all types of music.
NY Elite: Do you enjoy writing music and/or lyrics?
The Rain: Yes I enjoy writing my music and expressing how I feel.

The Rain: I’m an actor, model and Rapper. I am good with fixing things.

The Rain: My musical influences are: Run DMC, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa and Jay Z.
NY Elite: What can we expect from you in 2017? Any tour plans?
The Rain: Yes I am on a promo tour right now, Pittsburgh New York, North Carolina, Washington DC and performing on Radio interviews.
