I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Albania and completed several specializations in the field of early childhood education and parenting in Washington Dc, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Brussels.

My first experience in writing was in young age, but I published my first book in poems named VENERA on 2016. The first contact with readers encouraged me to continue writing and on December 2017 i published the second book “ Hanna’s novels” in  prose. I love paintings as well. Used to manage the artwork of two Albanian painters who live abroad. We have organized for the first time in Tirana art auction and the proceeds went to help the orphaned children in Tirana. I am an activist for women’s rights and help in concrete forms for women and single mothers since 2014.

NY Elite: What projects are you currently working on?

Nila Cohen: I am working on another novel “Last train to Berlin”.

NY Elite: What is the book about?

Nila Cohen: It is a love story in the end of the second World War . all the story will be treated as in the beginning the Sindrome of Stockholm transformed in Universal concept of Love which has been created and keep the humanity on.

NY Elite: Give us an insight into your main characters. What do they do?

Nila Cohen: Yanna and Hans are my main characters. She is an orphan Jewish Italian girl that has taken three big decision on her life ,decision that no normal girl in normal situations should ever take. She passed her teenage in a convent, then after war created a kitchen for survived people . In the same time she fall in love with a German officer,Hans who is persecuted from Nazi as desertor in the army as from the sovjetics as a nazi. there are many truth that no politics or religions will tell the generations about the past…the artist have to do it. Tell the truth to the generations and then let them make the choice which side they will follow. The BAD is very easy to be copied… the concentration camps where used from Russians, Yugoslavian and other countries after the war… the syndrome of Stockholm is present in our societies,in many forms..even inside the families in the country that the respect for the women doesn’t exist.

NY Elite: What genre are your books?

Nila Cohen: Poems and novels. I feel comfortable in novels

NY Elite: What draws you to this genre?

Nila Cohen: Publishing and creating a good name as new writer. Writing good books in order to make people in our days, affected with literature…with the smell of paper, reading. Enjoying the process of self imagination that brings reading.

NY Elite: What is your writing process like?

Nila Cohen: When I write I am alone with myself, and this withdrawal from reality gives me the right space to reflect. When I write I am in another dimension, I am in a personal world. In my world, I take with them some people I love, but also others who dare me. The latter help me to maintain the balance, as it happens in real life. to write to me personally, to make me beautiful from within Writing for me is freedom.

NY Elite: What three social topics/theme do you care mostly about and why?

Nila Cohen: Love, God and Peace are limitless. We all have to realize this. Everything has a beginning and an end, in the middle there is the reason … man is the most perfect being on this planet but he is afraid of wanting himself maybe so and does not believe in someone else’s love … Accept yourself.  love yourself. Love does not end even when a relationship ends … Love is the process of how such is a verb, not a name.

Love is not a solid object. There is no such thing as a transparent object as it is the only object on the ground that does not create shadow … to stay with something that can not be necessarily but LUX. Authentic people are lovingly luxurious. Everything has a beginning and an end in the middle is the reason … Zweig says every subject endures to a certain degree pressure. Water has the point of boiling. Metals point of smelting .. the same thing happens with feelings…with people.

Have been “feeding” by books since a child…I do not feed myself From books ..My career is strongly connected with education in my country. I am the lover of writing…

NY Elite: What can we expect from you in 2018?
