NY Elite: What was it like working with the director?
Sokol Cahani: It was a great experience. Working with Francis Lawrence was a real joy. He is one of those warm directors that you just click instantly which is very important for any project to be a success.
NY Elite: In which movies have you played lead role?
Sokol Cahani: The most recent lead role was in “Girls for Sale” an independent feature film directed and produced by Richard Lipman. I also played lead roles in “Crimes of a Father”, “Besa”, “The Necklace” and more.
NY Elite: Among all your roles so far, which has been your favorite one and why?
Sokol Cahani: Favourite roles, they are two: Peter in Crimes of a father directed by English director Ben Perry. The character I played was a father with a dark past who finds himself in a foreign country in difficult circumstances. He is punished in the end. A complex character with bad and good sides of him.
Another character was Deli, in Besa directed by the Albanian director Astrit Hyka. Deli is a colourful character based on true story of a Jewish woman who found sanctuary in north of Albania. He acts as a guide to help her escape Germans from occupied Yugoslavia to Albania.
NY Elite: What do you enjoy most about your acting career?
Sokol Cahani: What I enjoy most about acting is the work involved in researching about the character I will be playing. Since I was a child I have always been curious about people and event, and if you are interested in things you want to go deeper and you want to know more. This had always excited me through my whole acting career.

NY Elite: What personal advice would you give to someone about impressing the directors during audition? How to audition?
Sokol Cahani: Auditions are the most difficult and tricky part of acting. My advice would be: go there really prepare, learn the lines that’s the least you can do because casting directors hate when they see you reading from the page looking down all the time. Be bold in your choices. Consider casting director not like god that holds your future but as equal human being. So do your best and try and forget about that audition. easy said than done but you have to try. And above anything else be positive and CONFIDENT.
NY Elite: What are the things in your life that you’re most grateful for?
Sokol Cahani: To have a healthy and happy family life.
Surrounded by loved ones.
Nothing gives me more joy than when I see my sons 12 and 7 playing up and down with each other and why not fighting like little lions at times.
