Amari Mone, the brand was established in the summer of 2016 with the goal to bring the essence of couture back to the forefront of fashion.Todays world is being dominated by fast fashion. I found it incredibly important to remind people that fashion is also art. Fashion, particularly couture and custom garments, require so much love and attention to detail.

The brand, Amari Monee, is an upcoming luxury and evening wear company. We had an exclusive interview with Amari about future and fashion industry, that you can read here below:

When did you first realize you wanted to launch a your own label?

Designing is something I have been doing since I was a kid, but the thought of running a label and being part of the industry, was very daunting. My sophomore year in high school I decided to fully commit to my passion and start my brand.

If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before beginning your career what would it be?

Dont overthink. Work on your craft and be patient. The right opportunities will find you.

How do you want your clients to feel when wearing a your brand pieces and in what occasions can be worn?

I want my clients to feel expensive and divine. My pieces are attention-grabbers so they would be worn for special occasions and big events.

Can you tell us how your collections makes a difference to help more the environment?

I dont ever throw away fabric. One way or another I find a way to reuse fabric scraps.

What do you think is the biggest challenge for a designer who promotes diversity?

For a designer that promotes diversity the biggest challenge is being put in a box. Its easy for industry to box in brands that dont fit the typical status quo.

There is one important person, in your life, who pushes and motivates you to believe in yourself?

My Aunt. Her and I have been besties since I was born

How do you think a label should motivate its collaborators?

Labels should inspire its collaborators to be more innovative and push the envelope.

The clothing itself should give collaborators ideas about how to creatively deliver those garments to the world.

Describe us you as a creative in your personal life and how your feelings influence the creativity process?

As a creative I like processes. I never jump into a project right away. I start by researching, ideating, making vision/concept boards, etc. In my personal life my creative outlook bleeds into everything I do. It is the lens from which I do my university homework, how I decorate my bedroom, the kind of car I buy, etc. I have found that when I work from my emotions I produce my best work. A designer that has a connection to their pieces is something beautiful.

Would you like to involve other creatives in your future projects and what do you think is the main mission of the CO-BRANDING concept?

I absolutely love working with other creatives. Working by yourself constantly can get stale, and that shows in your work. When you are surrounded by like-minded people and seeing them in their element it gives you as a designer a fresh perspective.

What is the slogan of your brand?

It is a quote I saw many years ago on Pinterest, Visualize your highest self. Be Her.

What are the next steps for your label, in order to grow up more?

The next steps for me are more collaborations with stylists, photographers, magazines, etc. In order for my business to grow I need exposure.
