Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Rick Owens has taken us unique journey once again with a striking transition to dystopian times in his SS21 presentation.

The title of this collection “PHLEGETHON” refers to an infernal river from ancient greek mythology, which would cause unimaginable pain to those who swam in it or drank it. In Dante’sInferno, the Italian poet described it as a river of blood that boils souls.

As his models strode through the smoke in the monumental piazza of the Venice Lido, Owens delivered another standout show.

Dressed in various states of dark, pagan warrior chic, atop towering platforms or thigh-high leather waders, Owens army came with intensity and purpose.

His show also notes reminded us that the word quarantine originated from the medieval Venetian response to the bubonic plague. The collection was at once heroic with its sheer capes and powerful proportions and practical. A plethora of jersey dresses and knits were designed to be worn more than one way, depending on whim or circumstance. Straps allowed wearers to strip-off their jackets and tie them around their waists like bustles.

Fishnet tank dresses were upcycled form masks used in a 2012 collection and the designer describes himself as leaning into a taste for the lurid, with flashes of bubble gum pink and alarm red.

The Grim gaiety of his micro ruffles and ribbons were not about fashion as a form of escapism, but as a defiant response to the times. Clothes dont change the world, but theyre part of an attitude that influences the way people think. Theyre signifiers, little messages people send to each other, said the designer.

Despite this air of dissociation, the show was notable as one of the very few held this season where models have actually worn masks. It was fitting, given that Venices historical relationship with both facial wear as well as pandemic disease.

More than just thematically apt, it was a noteworthy recognition of the global situation that continues to rage beyond the 15 minutes of a show. As valuable as fashions escapist faculty, at its best, it balances that with a perceptive awareness of reality. Phlegethon offered just that.

Like Ivy creeping over a wall over the years, as time passes, something that grows familiar without us even realising it. Something we can say that is taken for granted. Sometimes, these signify comfort and satisfaction while embodying the ordinary, resonating with the changes of eras and generations. Occasionally, rigid concepts or styles, though rarely, may cause unexpected friction in peoples hearts. For Shinpei Goto, who regards history as a legacy filled with enchanting codes, one of the elements is the trad and Ivy styles.

M A S U, while embracing the spirit of the times, has continued to explore a radical path alongside MASU BOYS without distorting history, infusing their designs with novel ideas. M A S Us extraordinary design approach always begins with questioning rigid thoughts, encouraging people to let go of what they unconsciously cling to, and integrating contradictions and combinations repeatedly.

The imagination that questions the existing can weave different stories. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection unveiled on Haussmann Boulevard in Paris is filled with straightforward reinterpretations that directly confront traditional and Ivy styles. With his usual light touch, the designer turned his gaze to the style like mature ivy and the items and outfits that symbolise them. He unraveled navy blazers, marine stripes, and argyle patterns, not only slicing through cliches but also technically transforming forms with smocking anddeforming classics with accordion pleats, liberating concepts effortlessly. This playful collection, shedding the abstraction of style, can be seen as a meeting of familiarity and artistic dressing. Shinpei truly envisions the beginning of another tale.

Collaborations, for M A S U, represent a contemporary approach that unleashes his vision into a broader territory. Since the 1950s, incorporating American culture and permeating Japan with American traditional style, the VAN JAC by Kensuke Ishizu, who led Japanese fashion trends, we paid homage to Ishizu by creating a sweatshirt printed with his portrait in the style of a Beethoven sweatshirt (Great Man Sweatshirt), not only with a paper bag-style clutch but also revolutionizing Japanese fashion and paving the way for the future. Following the 24FW collection, VERDY depicts MASU BOYS CLUB lettering and emblem, along with ivy graphics wrapping around the arm, while memorial pants are adorned with words related to VERDY and designer John, a friend who connected them.

While the conventional pattern exists and mavericks of the era, who face criticism, emerge, it sparks enthusiasm. Then it eventually becomes mainstream and classic. Japanese fashion has been cultivated in this manner, but I dont want to passively accept this environment. Without any hesitation, in a Japan that is becoming increasingly classic, I want to continue to speak through the power of MASU BOYS, connecting the grayish attitude to the future of fashion. As long as MASU BOYS exist, its too early to conclude the Ivy story with Happily ever after.

Miami Swim Week Powered By Art Hearts Fashion 2024 dazzled with a blend of style, trends, and unforgettable moments. Celebrating Memorial Day weekend, Art Hearts Fashion kicked off the festivities with Miami Model Week, featuring model castings, pool parties, networking events, and after-parties. On Saturday, May 25, models gathered at Fabel Miami, followed by an after-party at E11EVEN Miami nightclub with Rick Ross. Sunday’s events included Day 1 of castings at Strawberry Moon, a sunset party at The Deck, and another after-party at E11EVEN Miami with DJ Markus Schulz. On Wednesday, May 29, female and male models prepared for the runway shows at That’s It Salon and Fade Masters of Miami. Subtitle: They say that art is a mirror of the soul. Juli Tawil's artistic journey is an enthralling reflection of her life experiences, passion, and boundless creativity. NY Elite Magazine takes you on a journey through this remarkable artist's art and life. 

Juli's love affair with art began at a remarkably young age, 12 years old, when she enrolled in art classes at the "Painting Atelier," a facility founded by her mother, an artist herself. It was a childhood filled with the vibrant colors of brushes and paints that planted the seeds of her artistic journey.

Juli's path to becoming a well-known artist, however, was anything but straightforward. She first pursued a career in Industrial Design, where she gained invaluable skills and knowledge. But the allure of art drew her in, inspiring her to turn her passion into a lucrative career. Juli's technical training in Industrial Design is unusual for a painter, and her artistic skills developed from an early age explain the unique skills and ability she demonstrates with control of her medium, the three-dimensional reliefs, and the colors she uses.

Her artistic education was a 25-year journey at Argentina's "Atelier de Palermo," where she immersed herself in the world of art under the tutelage of numerous instructors. Her mentor, Omar Martino, however, left an indelible imprint on her artistic development, propelling her into the realms of abstraction and figurative work.

Juli's brushwork shows the influence of iconic artist Claude Monet, infusing her creations with an array of colors and dynamic strokes. Juli, despite her global reach, finds it difficult to identify a distinct Argentine touch in her work, emphasizing the universality of her art. Juli's new commissions from clients and collectors around the world attest to the fact that her strong technical skills and innovative techniques have found an appreciative audience among her American and international fans.

Her artistic techniques have evolved over time, shifting from realistic landscapes to abstract explorations. Her current technique, the "Dots Series," is a one-of-a-kind fusion of relief, color, and texture that deviates from traditional art. This one innovation is sure to define a new generation of art that will be around for years to come.

Life events have shaped Juli's art, with motherhood and marriage being significant milestones that find expression in her creations. Her art reflects her personal development and evolution.

Nature, a never-ending source of inspiration, is at the heart of Juli's artistic philosophy. She creates pieces that she would want to hang in her own home, always pushing the limits of color and material.

"Beautiful Bird," a piece that marks a turning point in her career, is one of her favorite works. It combines figurative and versatile composition with vibrant colors, demonstrating Juli's artistic vision.

Juli's approach to art is summed up in her words: "I went without painting for a few months after moving to Miami with my family while setting up our home. During the relocation process, it appears that I developed a strong desire to paint and express myself. I imagined experimenting with new techniques, colors, and materials. When we finally found our place and I had the time and space to paint, I felt compelled to create a blank canvas, 'Growing Up,' as if it were a blank page, from which to begin a new story. That painting inspired the entire Dot Series."

Her artistic path has been marked by significant exhibitions, including a prestigious showing at the Louvre in Paris, which has led to collaborations and opportunities. 

Juli's long-term artistic objectives are as broad as her art is innovative. She dreams of having her paintings displayed in homes all over the world and of opening her own art gallery to support emerging artists. For Spring/Summer 2021, the Situationist collection presented at Paris Fashion Week embodied modern, tailored, architectural design. An array of bold colors in solid looks were contrasted with pastel floral prints to create the color palette for the season. Also of note in the collection is the play of angularity in many cuts and the emphasis in oversized shoulders.

THE last thing I want to see are serious clothes. I think we need an escape. An escape is exactly what Tom Ford delivered this collection was one of easy escapism; jubilant clothes that spoke of good times past and good times yet to come, all worn with a relaxed, carefree ease.

Times of change invite creatives to change their ways of thinking. Veilance creative director Taka Kasuga generally prefers a patient evolution of ideas over a snappy about-face, but even prior to the pandemic he was considering methods of prodding the Vancouver-based brand towards the future. One small step for Kasuga is a major leap for Veilance; the minimalist, logo-free label is preparing to launch its debut artist collaboration, showcasing CHITOs illustrative skill.

Importantly, the collaboration dually celebrates Veilances insulating wares and CHITOs creativity; rather than, say, simply printing CHITO imagery atop a graphic T-shirt, Veilance sent the Seattle-based artist 55 of its most recognizable garments and accessories. CHITO individually airbrushed each one, yielding one-off items elevated by reflective highlighted seams and illustrated faces.

All profits from the limited edition collaborative endeavor will benefit the inclusive Vertical Generation charity. All of the hand-brushed CHITO pieces will launch on Veilances website September 24.

Our lives have changed completely to something we have never experienced before. Even though we are in an unprecedented situation, the pandemic has prompted many designers and creatives to achieve further evolution. For some, it has been a welcome opportunity to create something more bold, explore new boundaries and deliver key messages to audiences.

One designer who has taken full advantage of this opportunity is Takahiro Miyashita who made a triumphant return to Paris Fashion Week with a display of the latest assemblage of evocative wares that make up the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2021 range for his label, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist.

After a long absence, this was only TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. second collection to be showcased in the city since 2009, Miyashita looked to make a statement with his comeback.

Presenting a strong collection that strives to break the boundaries of gender, colour and age, titled doe(s), with the seasonal collection for Jane Doe or John Doe, Takahiro simply pursued the beauty of garments as to not identify the wearer but allow ones individuality to shine through.

Undoubtedly informed by the current global crisis, designing clothes for a non-specific person and presenting during the womenswear showing intentionally expresses an altered methodology and approach.

Inspired by viewing the ghastly world from his home yet wanting to connect with the new world ahead, Takahiro Miyashita created a series of items with canvas furnishing textiles defined by raw finishings as if ripped from his sofa. Signature tailoring is exquisitely paired with rivets that resemble oversized staples and help create an abstract pattern design on garments. Touching on a current necessity for protection, the idea of traditional garment bags has been transformed into garments unto themselves. Outfitted with concealed zippers, the unique pieces offer alternative wear patterns that stray from the traditional approaches of dress.

Decorative elements found in TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist.s SS21 collection are inspired by Lucio Fontanas concept of spatialism. As rubber tape is applied to create a sound pattern and then removed to leave perforations as a reflection of Takahiros new fractured approach to design and the world. Aside from his Rebelution musing as always, the designer has also prepared a number of quotes from Ernest Hemingway and neo-noir psychological crime thriller Se7en to mark the range. Evocative phrases include Long is the way, and hard, that out of HELL lead up to light (Se7en), the world is a fine place and worth fighting for (Hemingway).

Additionally, Takahiro Miyashita has written and directed a short film to set the mood for doe(s) while paying homage to the state of the world. Scored in collaboration with Korean indie band HYUKOH, the visual presents an ephemeral world fuelled by the pendulum of humanitys metronome setting a new tempo for our future.

After 90 days at Givenchy, creative director Matthew Williams debuted his first collection for the house in one of Pariss most anticipated presentations of the Spring/Summer 2021 season.

Known for his penchant for hardware as seen at his 1017 Alyx 19SM label, Williamsincorporated chains, metal, and shine into many of the collections bags, shoes, and outerwear.

In 54 looks, he created something for everyone, whether the Givenchy customer wants an impeccably tailored suit or a sexy dress for a scantily-clad night on the town.

The global pandemic didnt deter designers from presenting collections with the Flying Solo showcase at Salons Marceau, a few meters away from the iconic Arc de Triomphe.

In case you were unaware, this is the place to be for fashion of the future as ever popular curated incubator, Flying Solo, gives emerging designers opportunities for retail presence at their swanky boutique, showroom representation for editorial and celebrity pulls and runway show opportunities during Paris Fashion Week.

Founded by designers themselves in 2016, in just 4 years since opening, Flying Solo has proved to be one of the biggest fashion platforms launching the careers of many independent designers.

The incubator is a membership-based retail service with over 200+ current members and a waitlist of over 1,500 brands collaborating in order to create a thriving retail industry that works for the most innovative designers and brands.

24Fashion.TV: Hi Nabil! Congratulations on the new collection! It's absolutely phenomenal!

Nabil Younes: Thank you very much, it was a lot of work!

Can you please tell me a few words about your collection shown at Paris Fashion Week 2020?

I think it's a very beautiful collection, and I am very happy with it because it was very popular among my clients and we have seen very high demand for it! Also, we had the singer of the Parisian opera sing so the atmosphere was unforgettable!

Where do you usually find creative inspiration for your new collection?

I draw a little inspiration for new collections from observing fashion, from traveling, looking at windows in Paris, London, New York. From knowledge, from education. From the cinema of the era of Marilyn Monroe. I am also inspired by many outstanding actresses such as Angelina Jolie and others. And I also created a collection during this difficult period, which I called "Marilyn Monroe".

Wow, that's impressive! When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a fashion designer?

I started getting into fashion when I was 5 years old. I enjoyed watching fashion shows, looking at fashion magazines, and drawing sketches. And this hobby grew up with me. As a five-year-old child, I already knew what I wanted to do, and what I wanted to devote my life to. I chose my profession at the age of 5.

That's unbelievable! What is fashion for you?

Fashion for me is life! And I am really happy that it so happened that I was lucky to live in the capital of fashion - in Paris! I have a dream to show my collection in New York. People there are dressed well and it's my dream to have a show in New York.

How is working in fashion different today than from when you started out?

Working in fashion today and before has a big difference. Previously, people dressed with great taste, in very beautiful elegant clothes, in evening dresses, in haute couture dresses. And now we don't see it. Big difference. Now we see clothes that are comfortable and simple. Nowadays, we can see beautiful dresses only on actresses at the Cannes Film Festival, at the Academy Awards or at the Venice Film Festival. Big difference! And before, every designer, couturier had many clients. And now everything has changed in the world and working in fashion has changed too. I create a lot of vintage evening dresses, and they are often handmade, naturally they are very expensive. There used to be a lot of clients for such dresses. And now their number is decreasing. But despite this, I still adhere to my traditions, creating high quality dresses, using French lace.

What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Social media for fashion plays both a positive and a negative role. Before social media information and photos of collections were sent to fashion houses, regular customers and shops only in paper form, targeting clientele, those who could afford exquisite, expensive luxury things, and the client knew me personally and could call personally but now with the advent of the Internet, social networks, everything has changed, information and photos of collections, including contacts of the couturier, can be seen everywhere. This is both good and bad. Good, because the collections are seen by many more people. It's bad because I don't know who is calling me, maybe the person saw the photo and is interested just out of curiosity. It's also bad because more and more fakes are created with the availability of information.

What is your favorite part about being a designer?

Despite the fact that people and society have changed, and fewer and fewer of those who wear luxury clothes, I cannot and do not want to do what I do not like, I really love manual work. I also love making sketches.

How do you want women to feel when wearing your clothes?

I think they love my outfits very much, any woman admires high-quality, beautiful, luxury things. They feel chic, classy and elegant in my dresses. I am sure that they adore things from my collection. I have many clients who wear my things for many years and things do not lose quality, it remains unchanged. The quality of my clothes has always been and will be a very important component for me. Thanks to this, I also have a very good reputation, and my clothes are bought by the stars with pleasure thanks to this reputation.

What comes next for Nabil Younes? 

I always look at the future positively. This year I worked very hard. I think 2021 will end this whole virus nightmare. Fashion, of course, will change, it's obvious. I also want to change. I have a lot of projects for 2021. I am already preparing a collection for 2021. And the new show will coincide with my birthday on January 21st. Every year I do shows on my birthday. I have a lot of projects for the next year. And I always try to think positively about the future. Of course, there are different days, one day is good, the other is not very good, and we are all vulnerable and sometimes sad, but this is life. And one must not lose faith in a positive future. Even if you didn't make money today, you will earn later. We must continue to do our job and everything will be fine.

The Ingrid Kraftchenko label is founded by British radical creative, artist, activist and fashion designer Ingrid Kraftchenko.

Born in Kent, England and trained previously in Architecture school, she graduated in Womenswear from London College of Fashion (2017). She lives and works in London and Berlin. She has gained critical acclaim for her utilitarian, avant-garde designs and for challenging modern luxury. She has garnered a cult following with her latest collections No Season20 at Somerset House and Hypnagogia at FOLD.

Ingrid Kraftchenko is a radical, immersive and subversive British uniform, utilitarian articles for the anti-fashion youth. The punk and experimental identity and mood is inherently autobiographical and born from her subculture of the techno and performance underground and infused by her radical friends and collaborators. Her newest collection KRAFTEKNO made specifically to showcase for London Fashion Week 2020 unites the 2, with integrated urban protection and electronics into the technical garments.

The film KRAFTEKNO SS21 was created exclusively for the official schedule of London Fashion Week, September 2020 by Liam Noonan with 3D construction software, allowing her to create a 100% virtual collection.

The Suitaloon is wearable technology and explores the design language of military, functional and utilitarian outfits. Significant modifications conclude in technical survival wear that incorporates complex hidden functionalities into the garments. Integral personal safety devices, integrated electronics to embed music in the garment, outer jacket detects pollutants in the air and alerts are sent via sound devices and LED screens allowing plug in to society. Total urban protection; hinting at espionage, security and invisibility.

Hidden devices and reactive materials used lead to the ability to avoid detection, using hydrochromic and thermochromic inks as camouflage on water resistant and fire retardant fabrics. Ultimately, a retaliation to the heightened levels of surveillance, air pollution, pandemics and other infringements of civil rights. Using technical fabrics and reconstituted garments into experimental into an experimental androgynous reactive survival suit which transcends seasonal trends. The radical armour has been developed to defend the self, and fight hazard and risk.

My work is a subversive utilitarian uniform exploring androgynous tailoring, reusing deadstock and focuses on the body as a site of social and political contestation, and subverting social conventions. THE FACE

Previously working as a performance artist for Marina Abramovi, Ingrid Kraftchenko started to design her collection by performing each of the characters she wanted to create. Titled Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (after the 1989 Pedro Almodvar film) the collection explored gender power play, and archetypes of women Cue the leather clad models their ensembles often with 80s power shoulders. Ingrid draws on the current climate and feelings around her. Her collection focuses on those dynamics by referencing femininity along with emotions of anger, despair, euphoria, mania and desire. TV: What inspired you to channel your political frustration into art? IK: It was a very personal project inspired by my own experiences and women around me. It reflects our political struggles in the current youth culture. TEEN VOGUE

With Design experience at Margiela, Helmut Lang, AF Vandevorst, Barbara Gongini and having worked closely with Shayne Oliver on work for Hood by Air and Helmut Lang, she launched her own label in 2019. She is currently part of the Centre of Fashion Enterprise and supported by the UKFT.

She has collaborated with performers such as Sevdaliza, Anna Calvi, and Madonna plus more. Ingrid has established herself as an innovative, underground Designer who continually pushes boundaries within the fashion industry.

It is more than clear that fashion lives on trends. And that is why we always look for what is most popular these days. But along with the novelties of the season, some garments cannot be missing in your closet. This season, we had the pleasure of being able to talk with the Italian stylist, designer and a founder of WonderlandCapri, a boutique store in Capri - Alessandro Ruocco. Alessandro: Neo-green a hybrid of rain-fresh spring green and cool, airy mintis set to be THE Premier Color of Spring/Summer 2020 and Beyond. It's easy to wear if you're tanned and goes very well with shocking pink, deep purple, and light denim.

What are the must-have for this summer?

This is a very peculiar summer. We all have been through a lot and affected by this global crisis. So the main rule should be "FUN". Accessories or anything that can catch someones attention and be a conversation starter with a stranger about what you're wearing! Do it fun, be you, and don't forget to make it chic.

What are your unique and trendy summer style essentials when you go out for dinner with friends?

I live in Capri, where it gets super hot. And nights out are pretty intense and wild. I always like to feel comfy, by wearing an oversized shirt. Its even better if it is a vintage Versace or Moschino shirt, denim "destroyed" shorts, and we cannot forget about rule #1, which is to wear comfy shoes (especially sneakers) because here in Capri you walk a lot. But if you're going to be dancing all night, you still need comfy shoes, but fashionable.

Where does Alessandro get his inspiration at the time of creating unique outfits or beautiful pieces?

In my younger years, I learned to always keep my eyes open, to wherever I go or feel. Inspiration may come from the most underestimated things, even from something "stupid" or ineffable. Now, I'm so into "camp" style; from the LGBTQI '80s 90s clubs till burning man festival clothes. I love art and emerging artists. At this moment, I am also into Caroline Weaver, she is a Canadian artist, she makes some crazy and cool paintings; about candies and other things. Try to check her out if you can. You will love her!

PS: This is one of the paints I am getting inspired by. And its colors are so in for this summer.

24FASHION.TV: It has been a very busy season for you. Tell us about the latest pieces that you showed at London Fashion Week?

Gary James McQueen: I try to create a gallery experience with each collection combining both art and fashion pieces. 

For me the foundation of everything I do is based on story telling. Everything starts with the final vision of the fictional character or world Im trying to create and then this is reverse engineered and separated into art pieces, accessories and garments. Its so much more than just creating things to wear; its about giving authenticity to my creations.

I had a number of Lenticular artworks and photo shoots on display (the final shots became part of the art, for me it's about creating new ideas through design and styling). The Bodysuits from my most recent Solstice collection were on display as well as my new Kimono Gown which will form my next collection.

You have recently started working with Italian manufacturer Ratti. Can you tell us a little about what you are hoping to develop?

I met representatives from Ratti over a year ago and have been building our relationship ever since. They have been so supportive allowing me to develop designs and get these into the production without worrying about minimums. Going forward we are looking at new constructions and styles of scarves, and I am also introducing a new silk/cotton Bandana soon as part of a high-end street range.

Where do you currently find your inspiration?

Its always hard to explain the creative process as its more something you feel than verbally communicate. I pull lots of different reference points together that you wouldnt normally associate with each other to create something new. Sometimes music can inspire a feeling as a starting point then I translate this into a visual narrative in my own way.

Do you see your work as fashion or art?

They both go hand in hand. Yes, I try to create beautiful and luxurious products but without an authentic and engaging story behind each of these, they become obsolete, just things without any emotion or spirit attached to them.

It has been ten years since your Uncles death and your debut collection featured a range of Womens and Mens scarves in prints dedicated to him. The prints are very powerful. Is there a narrative behind the range?

I made my debut with the Life, Death and Rebirth collection which was dedicated to my late uncle.

Each of these stories have some significance to him. Life is based on Lees love of birds. I combined a Japanese block printing aesthetic with photographs that I took of pigeons (Very London) making them exotic fantasy birds.

Death is based on the Ivory trade and the impact this has had on endangered species. I created a kaleidoscope from animal bones, which at first glance looks very ornate and floral until you take a closer look.

Rebirth is based on the rebirth and cycle of creative energy, which depicts moonlit bodies floating in a black void. 

What comes next for Gary James McQueen?

There was so much that I couldnt get completed in time for my recent event and always due to budget, but I have got a new lenticular piece, some sculptures and a one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that I will be revealing soon. Two new stories/collections with everything thats involved with those and summer street wear that Im developing too. Its never about having a shortage of ideas, as my late uncle once said, Give me time, and Ill give you a revolution!

The international situation does not scare designer Gianluca Capannolo . After the end of every war there is always a rebirth. I believe this is the time to be reborn, the designer said during the presentation of his Spring-Summer 21 collection at Milano Moda Donna .

For those who can reach us, we are seeing much more interest in the search for products that are a little more niche, outside globalisation. The wearer seeks novelty .

Capannolos latest line, is an explosion of colour and lively prints with a tribal chic flavour, declined in an urban key. And it is Gianluca Capannolos brush that draws the motifs. In the background, Africa, feathered accessories and weaves. This collection is also a way of saying that there are no more borders, races or barriers.

Fascinating  graphic  mazes  spring  to  life  from  pictorial,  spiral  and  floral  patterns,  suggesting  a  primitive  aesthetic. It  is  Gianluca  Capannolos  paintbrush  that  designs  the  motives  of  the  collection and which are translated into original prints and exclusive brocades. Africa, which inspires  ethnic  and jungle  prints,  feather-adorned  accessories  and  entwined  cord,  interpreted with contemporary elegance, is in the background of the collection. 

Cultivated and cosmopolitan, the Gianluca Capannolo woman dialogues with the world, choosing a  universal style that draws on several cultures, breaking down all borders. 

The  collection  interprets  a  relaxed  aesthetic,  with  versatile  clothes  and  accessories,  forming outfits that are perfect all day long. 

The  daily  proposal  features  cotton,  in  poplin,  voile or  fused  muslin,  to  create  a  delicate  pliss  effect. 

Silk, satin crepe, crinoline and techno georgette narrate a refined femininity, which indulges itself  in audacious choices, like the jungle print brocades offered in two elegant trilogies of colour, pink  fuchsia earth and sky blue turquoise - blue. 

The  silk,  produced  using  the  technique  of  a  double  print  to  guarantee  the  same  definition  and  shine  on  the  outside  and  inside  of  the  pieces,  reveals  the  absolute  dedication  of  Gianluca  Capannolo to details. 

For the first time a trouser suit appears: with a tailored fit and lined in cotton and silk, it is offered  in printed cotton, jungle print jacquard and self-coloured satin. 

Ostrich  feathers  release  colour  on  the  pieces  and  mesh  accessories,  sandals  and  jewellery,  emphasising  the  tribal  flavour  of  the  collection.  Alongside  the maxi  bags  and  the  Capri  sandals  with an ethnic character, ruff necklaces made wholly of monochrome feathers appear. Hand-woven  cords  run  across  the  belts,  finished  with  satin  and  feather  trims  giving rise  to  the  offer of jewellery. Special attention is given to bracelets, created in plastic and Bakelite, suggesting  the influence of the Fifties. 

The colour palette alternates warm and cool shades, exploring the tones of red, coral, brick, pink  and fuchsia, venturing into the hues of blue, cobalt, teal, emerald and sky blue.

While Italy is confirmed as the best performing market for the label, accounting for 80% of the total turnover. Expansion into the US, China and Japan is also among the future intentions, the future for Capannolo looks very bright indeed.

Inspired by Dadaism + mathematics + much more,ARC LUOuses fashion to explore philosophy + creative concepts. The labels most recent collection, In-arti-culate, focuses on the perception of art and how it shifts from person to person. These themes are not hidden; throughout much of the collection, imagery of toilets makes a prominent appearance a bold move that shows the brands willingness to explore topics not often covered in the fashion world.

How does your brand position itself on the international market?

An opinion leader who is working on the costume designing.

How the brand was born and how many people are involved in the team now?

My brand Arcluo were born during the pandemic. Many brands closed, which means less competitors and new opportunities. I dont think there is a fashion brand with long history in China yet.

What do you think is the biggest challenge for a young brand right now?

Sustainable output. Strike a balance between attention and the wearable design.

How do you want to achieve the long-lasting concept for your brand?

Establish long-term cooperation with buyers and develop the fans economy.

How do you determine what is durable design?

Convenient, collectable and comfortable clothes.

What happens to that part of a production that does not get sold?

Presell or discount.

How far do you go in terms of sustainability?

Fashion is not necessity, clothes are.

The key of Environmental protection is about the thoughts of consumers, while, the concept of environmental protection itself is conflicted with the promotion of consumption.

The essence of the sustainability is to lower peoples desire to buy. There are many options for manufacturers to change, the application of the environment-friendly material, the energy saving of production and the adjustment of design version (for instance, zerowaste). They have to change, as the consumers change. What really need to adjust is what and how to advertise.

As a designer, I hope that my work is either a work of art, expressing a certain idea, or a classic item that can be kept in the closet for a long time.

Where could you serve as a role model for others?

Build up the ability to learn quickly and respond quickly to the changes.

How fashion industry nowadays can help more the creatives?

As a matter of fact, there already are so many opportunities. For examples, contests, like lvmh, fashioneast and vfiles, can help designers to get various resources.

Can you tell us a little bit about your references for the Spring/Summer 2020 Collection?

My theme for this season is “in-arti-culate”, which focuses on how people perceive artworks. I referred to the shape and structure of artwork Fountain from Duchamp. It is about whether ordinary things can also become masterpiece of art, and it has aroused a series of discussions among people. I hope to deliver a message: Are we get too used to the things around us and a certain concept we recognize?

How do you want people to feel when they wear your clothes?

They would like to wear it every day.

Which was your best-selling piece from your Fall/Winter 2019 Collection?

Toilet-sea backpack.

How do you choose the agencies that represent your brand for sales and press office?

Whether they have worked with other brands that are similar to mine, their popularity and how they work.

What advice can you give to young designers regarding the sales?

Make a moderate price based on the features of the brand and cooperate with more people.

Ever since Boramy Viguier launched his eponymous menswear label in 2018, the Parisian designer has offered clothes with a beguiling and brilliant, mystical-spiritual, medieval bent. There has been a poetic fusion of monastic robing, techno performancewear, and nontraditional tailoring actually constructed in the most traditional of ways; Viguier certainly understands the inner mysteries of what makes a jacket function perfectly.

THE Covid-19 pandemic has made the fashion industry stop and re-think. Like a few other brands, Gucci decided to cut down the amount of shows and collections they are bringing out each year dropping from five to two. With this change, Creative Director Alessandro Michele made the decision to step away from the Fashion Week calendar and present the Gucci collections when he wishes.

Rather than arunway show,Gucciwill be adapting tothe fashion industrys current pandemic-stricken predicament by presenting its upcoming collection in a seven-part miniseries later this month. The films, like the collection, are titledOUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended, and will debut during GucciFest, the brands own digital fashion and film festival taking place November 16-22nd, co-directed by Gus Van Sant and Alessandro Michele.

Gucci’s upcoming collection, titled OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended, will be presented by Creative Director Alessandro Michele through the eponymous mini-series in seven episodes screened during GucciFest, an innovative digital fashion and film festival running from November 16th to 22nd.

Together with the OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended series, the GucciFest will also be screening fashion films celebrating the works of fifteen independent young designers, including French designer Boramy Viguier.

Proudly supported by the House and selected by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Boramy Viguier will showcase a short Fashion Film to be premiered on the platforms of the GucciFest.

The seven episodes will be released daily through the course of the festival as an exclusive broadcast on YouTube Fashion, Weibo, Gucci YouTube and embedded on the dedicated site GucciFest.com, gradually revealing the new collection day by day.

GucciFest will begin on November 16, and will be screened viaa specially-launched website as well as Guccis YouTube channel, Youtube Fashion and Weibo. The full program will be announced on November 13.

GucciFest will run from November 16-22, with one of the seven episodes airing daily on YouTube Fashion, Weibo, Gucci YouTube and the dedicated site GucciFest.com.

Madaleine Nelson, a Canadian fashion and textile print designer on the rise, known for creating fun and playful clothing with a feminine twist that is always body inclusive. 

24FASHION.TV: When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a fashion designer?

Madaleine Nelson: When I was around 11 years old, I used to draw sketches of dresses in my notepads or in a sketchbook. If I listened to a song I really liked I would sketch a dress for the celebrity to wear in the music video that I made up in my head. I realized that I cared about what other people were wearing and I started talking more about being a designer to my friends and family. Thats when it first really hit me that I could do it professionally. 

Where do you usually find creative inspiration?

Usually I find inspiration through having fun and observing the world around me. I love being in nature so that really inspires me to look at small details, such as dandelion petals, any flower pretty much, bark, and so on. Having fun inspires me to not design anything too serious, always keep it playful and a bit organic. Going with the flow is important to how I design since I will change my mind so many times!

How is working in fashion different today than from when you started out?

When I started out I was really naive about how everyone would act towards each other. I really struggled to get a job and even when I started university I was a bit shocked at how catty it could get. Now Ive learned that you have to take harsh criticism with a grain of salt because fashion is an art form and everyone has different tastes. 

Social Media plays a HUGE role in fashion nowadays. If you dont have a decent following, people aren't going to pay attention to what you're doing, no matter how good it may be! Practically everyone is on social media, so its a great way to see what others are doing, but it can also extinguish your own creativity. 

How was your brand affected by the Covid-19 lockdown?

My brand was actually officially created during the lockdown. Before Covid-19, I was doing freelance work and thinking that I wasnt able to start my own brand. But with Covid-19 I had the motivation to start making masks and make money through my own work. Obviously Covid-19 has not been a fun time for people, but without the lockdown I dont think I wouldve been where I am today!

Did you have to adjust your collection and make some changes to it because of Coronavirus? 

So in November I have a small three outfit collection coming out, but in 2021 Im releasing two collections! One is going to be a revamped version of the collection I already have (that isnt for sale yet) and the other is going to be a brand-new one. With Covid-19, it hasnt made me change my collections, but it has given me the opportunity to brainstorm more ideas. 

What do you think about sustainable fashion? Should fashion be more sustainable? 

I love sustainable fashion! I worked for a brand called Cassandra Elizabeth where everything made there is with sustainable fabrics and its all gender-neutral! I loved working there and honestly that showed me that being sustainable isn't unattainable! Fashion can be more sustainable, but people dont want to put in the time and money to do it! I try to be as sustainable as possible, I like to use my fabric scraps, use natural fabrics (when available) and I try to avoid fast fashion, by buying pieces that will stay in my wardrobe longer.

What is your favorite part about being a designer?

My favorite part about being a designer is seeing people wear what I have made. It makes me feel so happy and seeing them love it honestly could bring a tear of joy to my eye!

How do you want women/men to feel when wearing your clothes?

When women/men wear my clothes I want them to feel unique, playful and bold. I want people to express themselves as authentically as possible when wearing my designs, no matter their size or gender identity. 

Can you shortly describe your brand?

Madaleine Nelson is a bridge luxury fashion and textile design brand that creates fun, feminine and colorful clothing and textiles. With a focus on textiles, everything is designed with an intention of being stylish, bold and accessible. 

What comes next for Madaleine Nelson? 

Madaleine Nelson is on the rise! I have so many ideas its hard for me to sit down and relax after one project is done because I just want to keep going! With my small collection coming out soon, I dont think people will expect it, but its a gentle taster of what's to come in the future. I went with textiles that matched fall the best, but with my own spin. Im so looking forward to future collections and my future in general!

What do you think is the biggest challenge for a young brand right now?

I am a young brand right now, so for me the biggest challenge is being noticed. Its hard to stand out when there are so many young designers trying to create a platform for themselves. Luckily, we have social media which definitely helps with this challenge!

How do you want to achieve the long-lasting concept for your brand?

I think having timeless pieces is important to be a successful designer. Although a lot of my garments are trendy at the moment, I think my overall concept of military aesthetic is something that will always be relevant. A lot can understand and appreciate the references which I believe will make my brand long-lasting.

How far do you go in terms of sustainability?

I try to upcycle where I can. One of my favorite garments is a pair of shorts completely made from used army duffle bags.

Where could you serve as a role model for others?

I think Im a good example of going after what you want. When I decided to build my business I had no idea what I was doing, but I really wanted to make it happen. I think I could inspire young designers to do the same. You really will never know until you try, and Im so glad I made the decision to try.

How do you want people to feel when they wear your clothes?

I hope when people wear my clothes they feel confident, and cool. I want them to feel like they are the best versions of themselves when dressed in MOLLI.

What advice can you give to young designers regarding the sales?

The best advice Ive received regarding sales is that they most likely wont happen instantly. I think being patient is important, and Ive learned that while selling my line at Flying Solo NYC. Give the customer a chance to know your brand and trust it. The best advice I can give to young designers is be realistic with yourself.

A natural story

Since Antiquity, and certainly well before, clouds have aroused the interest of men, particularly that of philosophers.

Aristotle, in his treatise on Meteorology, associates clouds with winds, lightning, thunder but also comets, shooting stars and the Milky Way.

In the 12th century, called naked, the cloud was perceived from a theological perspective as the mystical cloud or veil of God.

From a scientific point of view, its nature is still debated. Black clouds are, thus, called rain vessels.

From the 19th century, scientists tried to classify clouds and published various works, which are still a reference today.

On the ground, the clouds are called mist or fog, but as soon as they rise, they take on scholarly names: altocumulus, cirrostratus, vertebratus...

As far as the artistic field is concerned, clouds are present in the romantic movement, like Caspar David Friedrich and his painting The Traveler contemplating a sea of clouds, by the very famous British painter William Turner, but also by Victor Hugo, with his ghostly watercolors.

John Constable, precursor of Impressionism, and Claude Monet use, in their works, scientific observations of clouds, in particular those made by means of balloon rides.

In French poetry, clouds occupy an iconic place as symbols of nature and its majesty.

Paul Verlaine and Charles Baudelaire found certain inspiration there and paid homage to them.

As such, I would like to share with you the last two lines of a poem, the one of Charles Baudelaire, The Stranger.

Hey! what do you like, extraordinary stranger?

I like the clouds... the passing clouds... over there... over there...wonderful clouds!

Clouds symbolize freedom and fraternity, they are at home everywhere. They dont know the borders.

From a small skylight, I can see the sky beyond the zinc roofs of the gray city. I fall asleep and wake up with these living and ephemeral photographs.

I rediscovered these childhood memories when intimidating, surprising or even smiling shapes appear among these floating clouds.

An inspiration can also be a simple fact of everyday life.

For me, a cloud is, at the same time, abstract and baroque, captivating and delicate, ephemeral and furious, greedy and heroic, imperial and jubilant, Kafkaesque and lascivious, mystical and noble, oily and psychedelic, quarrelsome and romantic, sensitive and theatrical, utopian and victorious, Wagnerian and xenophile, yin- yang and Zen.

This season, I sought the lightness of the creations both literally and figuratively. A new stage, a new direction in my life.

Creation is my life, my innocence, my cocoon, my reverie, my melancholy, my spiritual dimension, my food.

So, lets raise our heads, contemplate the clouds and discover the fascinating immensity of this universe in perpetual renewal.

Maison NATAN COUTURE COLLECTION FALL/WINTER 24/25

For this new Couture season, which celebrated timeless refinement - yet firmly rooted in the present - at a hotel de maitre on July 25 in Paris, Maison Natan drew inspiration from new sculptural materials for a sophisticated collection, shaped with masterful craftsmanship and imbued with desire.

With references to the supreme elegance of the 1950s, dear to Edouard Vermeulen, the Couture collection unveiled by Maison Natan blends innovative lines, free body movements, and the sublimation of the silhouette, with particular attention to wearability. The meticulous quality transcends circumstances and appeals to all generations. The Woman is placed at the center of the garment, which is enhanced by her movement and attitude.

Always focused on elegance and inventiveness, the Belgian designer has reinterpreted classic forms, played with light, infused the unexpected, and imagined a new brilliance. Combining the richness of basic materials with coated fabrics for shine and airy wools to anchor winter pieces over time, the Maison has transformed precious fabrics. For instance, a shirtdress in organza with a back neckline, worn with fuchsia wool and silk trousers and semi-gloss aubergine long gloves, and an iconic mohair evening dress, warm up modern occasions.

Becauseevenincomfort,Couturerequiresstructure,EdouardVermeulenemphasizesintricate constructions this season, with high-waisted flat-pleated pants, chiffon pants dancing around the legs. Below-the-knee lengths mix with short pieces, to be harmonized with large, elegant coats. The materials are precious, but to vary the originalities, a graphic satin top is mixed with a long sheath skirt in shantung silk, a short silk taffeta dress with an embroidered cape, a four-pocket neoprene suit with bent sleeves and a crystal belt. The Maison innovates again with double-faced silks, crepes, and chiffons, assertive colors. Sacré bleu! Will Ferrell is brushing up on his French for a live-action adaptation of the cult cartoon series Totally Spies! at Amazon! Ferrell is executive-producing the YA adaptation based on the Banijay Kids animated show. Totally Spies! focuses on Clover, Alex, and Sam, three international spies executing life-threatening missions while navigating a turbulent first year at college. Totally Spies! is like Charlie’s Angels with a French twist, Clueless-like humor, and Mission: Impossible-style action.

The Totally Spies! live-action project is from Amazon MGM Studios and Banijay Kids & Family. Amazon’s head of Pan-English original content, Rola Bauer, is leading the charge. Will Ferrell executive produces alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor through Gloria Sanches Productions. Banijay Kids & Family CEO Benoît Di Sabatino also executive produces.

“Totally Spies!’ is a huge success for Banijay Kids & Family, having been translated in 60 languages and sold to more than 220 territories,” Di Sabatino said. “With a social media base of 3 million, the series continues to thrive in its animation form with the recently launched 7th season. Rola Bauer approached me for a live-action adaptation, and we were thrilled to partner with Amazon MGM Studios. With her, Ludovic Attal, and Punit Matoo’s support, we are honoured to join such a stronghold of female-focused producers in Gloria Sanchez Productions to produce for Prime Video.”

While Totally Spies! could go under most people’s radar, the show is a smash overseas. Created by Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel, the first iteration of Totally Spies! is close to airing 200 episodes of cheeky spy shenanigans. The animated series paved the way for a prequel film, Totally Spies! The Movie and the spinoff The Amazing Spiez! The spinoff is in its seventh season in France, with the show coming to U.S. Cartoon Network later this year. To prime kids and parents for the live-action adaptation, episodes of Totally Spies! are streaming on Prime Video now.

With Will Ferrell executive producing the live-action Totally Spies!, the series could display a level of absurdist comedy that previous installments did not have. Totally Spies! has always been funny, but Ferrell comes from a different line of comedians. Can Ferrell and friends thread the needle of keeping Totally Spies! authentic while adding a new twist on the fan-favorite spy setup? I suspect so.

Using beloved flowers and butterflies as mediums, he constructs new, beautiful, and dreamlike story images in his mind. These images, reflecting the desire to transform from a cocoon into a butterfly, interpret the graceful demeanor of modern women. This approach not only endows each fashion piece with unique beauty but also pays heartfelt tribute to the diverse life attitudes of contemporary women. 

The number "12" is not just a numeral but also a number that symbolizes everything in the world, the 12 months, the 12 hours, the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, etc., representing the cycle of time and life. What is beauty. The question that is the bane of our industrys existence. I believe it cannot be addressed with only the presentation of the end product on the runway. From the cuts that mold on the body, to embrace it, not claim; my inspiration with the Atelier is rooted in celebration of us people.

The creations, crafted by artisanal fabric manipulation, resulting in unique surfaces reinterpret suiting adapted to modern posture trough construction adapted to modern life[1],and flou-tailoring [2]. The exploration of organic shapes and the human anatomy through re-invented techno-pleat designs [3] is what the collection speaks to.

The myriad of human silhouettes. Each of them, entirely shaped and sewn by hand. "Cousu main" : a needle, a thread, creation without the use of a machine. Such creation is greatly personal at the base of it all, and inspired by the lives of the diverse group of individuals around me, the generations that inspire and teach me. And so, our inspiration at the Atelier is rooted in this celebration of people, and the myriad of their human silhouettes, that has been a guiding architect.

Julien Fournie COLLECTION FALL/WINTER 24/25

Julien Fournie pays tribute to Marie-Antoinette, the last queen of France, at the Paris-based Musee Grevin.

She is the undisputed initiator of all Haute Couture. Whatever one thinks about her role in History, says Julien Fourni, Marie-Antoinette was a model of style for all the courts of Europe. She has started the movement at the very origin of fashion: preferring what is new to what has always been considered beautiful.

Contacted by the Grvin Museum management to create an outfit for the statue of Marie-Antoinette in her full majesty, Julien Fourni wanted to restore the splendor of her life in Versailles and to make a statement about her as a fashion icon, a status which the last queen of France has acquired for more than two centuries as the first genuine influencer.

To accompany this event, the French couturier also presents six looks inspired by the codes of the legend of Marie-Antoinette, declined in today's Haute Couture pieces showcasing the work of the best artisans. It includes, of course, corsets and ball gowns with huge volumes, but also looks flirting with masculine suits on feminine silhouettes.

The first look presents, under a long trench coat in plum washed silk, embroidered with old silver plant motifs, an ensemble entirely made of saddle-style leather, in various dear to Marie-Antoinette pastel shades. This training outfit also includes fleur-de-lis inlays on the pants, and flat bow ornaments on the bustier. A leather crown with medallions and royal gaiters complete this outfit. Accessories also hold a notable place in the collection: "Ex Voto" earrings and brooches, the brands monogrammed tote in a lenticular canvas and the new Big Bang handbag in 18th centurys tender colors. 

A pant 3piece suit, cut in a Prince of Wales wool in bright colors, comes enhanced with lilacs embroideries. It is paired with a lavalliere tie silk blouse and a bicorn hat, decorated with a feather arrow and brooch in the style of Incroyables.

A boyish azure jacket, embroidered with silver, over a short silk and lurex nightie, reveals the the legs full length barely covered with nude sheer leggings embroidered with royal jewels.

A wide embroidered ball gown swirls and reveals, under a matching Merveilleuse hat, a mix of peony, soft pink and sweetbriar tones on multiple precious layers of sheer fabrics.

To mark the diversity and universality of the Marie-Antoinette style, a flowery bustier in shades of canary yellow adorned with matching roses and jewelry tops a giant petticoat of matching tulles on the ebony body of Toby Momoh, a Julien Fourni muse. 

The last look in the collection reinterprets embroidered elements of the legend surrounding the last queen of France: as shepherdess, pastry lover, mother in love with her son, and playing with her coat of arms,a ll as if hand sketched like Asian anime in tattoo style. They flourish on a "gothic rockabily" look cinched by a black crystal embroidered black jacket with a crater collar and split basque.

The highlight of the show is only revealed at the finale: Queen Marie-Antoinettes majestic court costume includes a corset decorated with embroidered bows, a skirt, an overskirt, ruffled sleeves, in bright white silk triple organza, embellished with sparkling embroidery in various shades of silver and moon gold recalling the queens favorite musical instruments, symbols of the French royals and the motifs of Versailles. Ribbons, feathers and pearls enliven her hair, topped with a sparkling flocked galleon with embroidered sails featuring the French monarchs symbol. Julien Fournie also wanted to return to the Queen of France a replica of the famous necklace from the "Affair" which Marie-Antoinette never actually wore...

This new statue of Queen Marie-Antoinette now stands among the permanent collection of the wax Museum, in the Coupole at Grevin, which has brought together the characters of "Grevin Fashion" since 2014, From June 28th to September 1st, 2024, the six looks from the Julien Fournie Haute Couture "Last Queen" collection will remain on display in this same place so that a wider audience can admire up close and in complete freedom Haute Couture know-how.

On the occasion of the Paris Fashion Week SS25, Ziggy Chen presents: GNARTRICATE BAXT

The SS25 Ziggy Chen collection "GNARTRICATE" is inspired by a Chinese idiom, that originally means Intertwining Roots and refers to the invisible and founding part of the plant, which determines its nourishment and stability.

As a transposition, the designer plays by combining Gnarled Branches and Intricate by fusing them into GNARTRICATE. No longer underground and hidden but visible, disruptive branchesthatgrow andspread disorderly.

GNARTRICATE plays with the balance between beauty and decadence, chaos and rigour, elegance and comfort.

Colours and materials draw inspiration from traditional architectures, and from the plays of light and shadows that interact with the voids and solids created by the garden vegetation.

The colours have been faded by the passage of time. We therefore find various shades of purple, alongside greens and greys. References to the walls that enclose the gardens,onwhichthe intricate and strong branches cling.

The silhouettes of the SS25 are soft, instantly referring to comfort and naturalness. The texture o f the materials and the patterns of the fabrics reflect the constructed or aggressive shapes, to embody soft pleasantness. Each garment brings back a natural and sinuous experience, in which the body is caressed by the fabrics, which follow it fluidly in every movement.

AELIS COUTURE COLLECTION FALL/WINTER 24/25

GOLDEN AGE

History and high technology.

Light and its absence constitute the theme of the new season of AELIS.

Reflection on the impact of human beings on the planet takes an anti-gravitational point of view through a space archaeology approach.

Inspired by the images of the Sahara desert and pyramids seen from satellite, AELIS works on the new creations by following the Light trace of the nano particles of precious metals that cover the ultra tech fabrics made in collaboration with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and that illuminate the entire collection with golden and silver shades.

Attracted by the absence of light and the darkness of the space, for this collection Sofia received from the archives of the Paris Opra some precious antique black velvet pieces that Christine Neumeister offered to AELIS and reworked with Sofia for their singular history, such as a dress made in the 1950s and used by a contemporary artist in a one-night-only private exhibition-performance. A series of iconic recycled black velvet dresses are reborn in a new present, on the one hand treasures of the Paris Opra and on the other witnesses to the artistic history and savoir faire of haute couture that they embody for AELIS.

A graphic long-sleeved black velvet silhouette contemporary transposition of the pale Madame X , painted by John Sargent, is accompanied by an asymmetrical tattoo necklace created by Les Interessants in black micro crystal beads. A Renaissance-shaped jacket made of black velvet is adorned with a delicate weave of fine gold and silver chains, a unique and wonderful piece also by Les Interessants.

Antique lace and silver organza embroidery delicately placed on a black and white Chantilly tank top dress contrasts with a sleeveless tunic of eco-conscious mohair wool .

Inspired by light and luminescence, AELIS collaborates with PolyU and the Professor Kinor Jiang's team to develop a green project where precious metals such as gold and silver

are laid on delicate organic silk organza.

"Sustainable Lectures," a series of meetings on sustainable fashion jointly organized in Hong Kong by the French consulate and PolyU, where AELIS had been invited to share its vision of eco-sustainable fashion, allowed Sofia to meet with PolyU and RIO, research and innovation department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University , at the origin of the cutting age research project .

The high-tech green technology developed by PolyU involves using a magnetron sputtering coating to place ultra-thin, nano-scale metallic films on textile fibers without additives and without discharging polluted water or chemicals into the environment.

The wonderful result appears in some of the dresses made for the collection and offers Sofia the opportunity to showcase very precious, air-light fabrics whose silk fibers are delicately coated with particles of Gold and Silver.

A pyramid-shaped sculpted silver organza dress supported by a bustier creates a silhouette characterized by cones of light.

A cascade of vintage black feathers structures an gold ball gown skirt and in the same volume a dress is created by an oversized gold organza skirt and a double ruffle serving as a bodice.

An asymmetrical gold organza tunic is covered with evanescent silk embroidery recovered on an incredibly treasured silver embroidered gown from 1924 .

AELIS Models and Muses show the collection in a white Gallery immersed in a " Kubrickian " atmosphere created by Pierre Bnard where, unique works of precious contemporary design and Roman antiques are placed on the white floor under zenithal light creating a timeless dimension.

For AELIS and its commitment to an eco-conscious future, the prestigious upcycling partenariat with Opra de Paris and the green high-tech collaboration with PolyU, are a beautiful example of a joint and multicultural effort to change the future vision of fashion and improve the human impact on the planet

Dominika Wycech is a Paris based Haute Couture Polish model and a cover girl known for her classic features and refined looks.

24FASHION.TV: When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a model?

Dominika Wycech: I was never thinking about modeling. I was always refusing all scouts from model agencies. My friends were trying to convince me to give it a chance. But I was still saying no. When everyone left me alone I decided to take part in a beauty contest "Miss Warsaw" which I actually won, I also got a second title for "Miss Warsaw Models." From that moment my adventure with modeling has begun and I started to pursue it 100%!

How old were you when you first started?

I started pretty late for a model, I was already 22 years old but looked 16.

What do you consider the toughest aspect of this job?

I would say "there is no sure tomorrow". Everything can change last minute and you better don't celebrate your job before it's done.

What is your favorite part about being a model?

Fashion shows; during which I kind of switch worlds and realities. On the runway I'm in my own fairy tale.  

What are some of your modeling jobs and runway you walked you are most proud of?

I do love Haute Couture and I'm definitely more Haute Couture runway girl then Ready-to-wear. I did 6 shows of my beloved Guo Pei and yes her shows are like a fairy tale for everyone. I will always remember the first Haute Couture season in Paris and the first show for Christophe Josse. Julien Fourni, Tony Ward, Aganovich, Tex Saverio, Zaid Nakad, Ilja, Yanina Couture, Hexa by Kuho, Rami Al Ali, Tsumori Chisato, Mara Hoffman; I did a lot, and I am proud of all of them because I love the feeling when I'm on the runway. It's not possible to explain. Also, I worked for Saint Laurent as a fitting model and that was an amazing experience. I was traveling to Venice and Bologne, and I was able to be a part of the creation process from the very beginning. I can say I'm a Margiela girl so far I was a part of the team during last few seasons. Before it was Giambattista Vali, Lanvin, Kenzo, Stella McCartney, Rick Owens, Balenciaga and Celine.

Do you think you will still be modeling in 10-20 years from now, if not what will you do?

In 10 maybe still yes. So far I don't look my age but I want to have another job and connect both. I'm planning to start studies next year here in Paris for Community Manager. I finished International Relations at the University of Warsaw but for the moment I don't feel it's my future but sure it will help.

Would you say the career of a model is short-lived nowadays?

Nowadays it's hard to say. Let's see how the modeling world will react after Covid-19. I know girls working well-being over 40 but its old generation and old "rules".

What role do you think social media plays in the modeling industry?

Very important one but I'm not for that. Instagram counts more than your skills and achievements. That's sad.

Do you think having a large social media following helps to book more modeling jobs?

Definitely yes. During castings, you need to give your Instagram and number of followers, it started in NY and now on your comp card most of the time next to your measurements the client can see your IG.

When you're not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things you like to do?

I do love to bike. Now when we almost can't work I'm spending my days a lot of time on my bike.

If you weren't a model, what would you want to do?

My dream was to be a chemist. But now it's unfortunately too late and would take years.

I know you travel a lot because of your work! Where is your favorite place to travel?

There is no better place than Paris. I'm Parisian. But I wish to come back to NY when it all ends. This city has an amazing vibe. Not to live there but to stay for a while.

You live in Paris, is that the best place for a model to be?

For me, it is but each model should find her market.

What is your dream modeling job.

Show for Saint Laurent. During Haute Couture season. I was doing fittings for YSL but never a show.

What's your favorite designer to wear?

Yves Saint Laurent of course.

Do you have a favorite Supermodel you admire?

Yes I do. Only one Freja Beha Erichsen

Why do you think she makes a good model?

To me Freja Beha Erichsen is a quintessence of perfection; her body, her magnetic face, eyes and her attitude to the modeling job. She is also rocky but classic. For me a model has to be skinny but of course that is a question of your genetics. I do not accept plus size models, because like that each girl can be a model. Freja is the most charismatic model for me too! And I do love her tattoos.

What advice would you give to girls that are dreaming of a career as a model?

Choose one good mother agency, be strong but humble and never give up.

For his Haute Couture FW25 show, Tony Ward revealed a collection called Nymphs Rebirth, at Hotel Potocki in Paris. Pieces in his latest collection were inspired by the mythical creature, with sequins, beads and metallic leaves all taking centre stage on the runway.

Everyone awaited her arrival, her steps, her energy.

On the 24th of June at 6:00 PM sharp; she took her first breath.

In the Tony Ward couture Fall Winter 2024/25 fashion show during Paris Haute Couture Week.

Between the walls of the pristine Hotel Potocki, Paris: She is out for the world to see.

She came alive on the runway and as diverse as she is; she took many forms through volumes and cut-outs.

Tattooed with the finest patterns, her soul spoke of passionate craftsmanship and exquisite couture. She existed in the draping fabric, in the delicate layers of stitched petals and the faded embroidery on sheer tulle. She sat on the beads, flourished in between the art of thousand pleats, shined in the crystals. Her laugher was echoed through the flared skirts and accentuated by layers of blended silk and metallic leaves. Upon her arrival, she gifted the audience 3,000 silk organza flowers offered to them on a statement cape. 

A being so divine, only known to be a myth is now known through the eyes of the audience.

She occupied the elements of nature with tints of celestial blue, sage green, and cherry wood red.

Celebrities, actresses, stylists, influencers, and international press all came to witness her rebirth from Fan BingBing, Leonie Hanne, Pia Wurtzbach, Madalina Ghenea, Ariadna Gutirrez, Kristy Sarah Scott, to Helene Segara, Maimouna Doucour, Yousra Mohsen, Dborah Francois and many more. 

Every time you look at her you will remember: she exists within you, and you exist within her.

She is the daughter of the earth in all its forces, in all its power, in all its fabrics.

YANINA COUTURE COLLECTION FALL/WINTER 24/25

Flowers have always inspired painters and poets with their beauty and vitality. Great creators saw a unique energy and tried to imprint a fleeting moment. 

The YANINA Couture house explores an ever-spring world for the new season and suggests move into a fabulous flower garden. On the 25th of June at Paris Fashion Haute Couture Week the brand showcased a couture collection which was inspired by frailty and, at the same time, the power of flowers. The designer Yulia Yanina suggests to have a look at the variety of female beauty through the prism of vivid images, where delicate roses verge on arrogant sunflowers.

There are many colors in the collection: pink, yellow, silver, white, light blue altogether they symbolize love of life and enjoyment. At the core of this collection is found an idea of beauty unicity. It is impossible to meet two identical women, as well as there is no chance to find two identical flowers.The main character of the new collection feels her own uniqueness, she is confident and shows energy and faultless charm to the world. Due to her stunning beauty, people around become kinder, easier and want to follow her. 

When I think about the character of my collection, I imagine a woman who enjoys every second of her life. She finds herself young, and it doesnt matter how old she is: she believes, dreams and wants a lot. There are many ideas and wishes in her head. She believes that everything is possible, - describes Yulia Yanina.

Thanks to modern technology, the YANINA Couture team has created many unusual textures. Through the use of the tissue application and the bas-relief illusion appears a feeling of alive image. Especially for the new collection were created luxurious picturesque fabrics. Also was used an important embroidery for the fashion house. This time it is floral shaped and appears lightly touches on the clothes.

In addition to light floral dresses, there are capes and robes in the new collection, that surprise with their beauty and novelty. Jackets are cropped and fitted, with extended shoulders and oversize, but at the same time elegant and stylish. A lot of attention is paid to skirts the exaggerated trumpet skirt, new look models, silhouette maxi, flippy skirt, A-line skirt each are able to emphasize womens unicity. Also were used accessories: gloves, kerchiefs, caps complement fancy images of the heroine, who loves courageous experiments and understands how to be different, but at the same time be true to her style. 

The fashion YANINA Couture house continues to praise and highlight female beauty, attempts to show new sides and emphasizes timeless values, sort of agreement with the words of the grate Christian Dior: After women, flowers are the loveliest thing God has given the world.

A shoulder, very square, a sleeve, very straight.

The pavement is gleaming, footsteps echo.

A black suit, half tuxedo.

Some black tailored dresses, always black and androgynous, with organza cutouts. Mysterious Paris.

Hidden Paris.

Long hooded coat in black velvet and satin, bare chest, adorned with sapphires.

I cover, uncover, forbidden things.

Windows of light. Brassai captures intimacy.

The dresses are cut out, dancing.

Insolent.

A gazar scarf wrapped around a bare chest, covering the breasts.

The black chiffon skirt flows like the Seine at twilight.

Diamonds are bright headlights in the fog.

Movements! Soaring! Paris stirs! A party!

Private. Always.

A white wrap stole clipped with two jonquil diamond brooches. Low black crepe skirt. Evening pyjamas, kimonos, and caftans embroidered over transparent organza pants. Long ink-sequined tunic dress embroidered with white porcelain cubism.

Diamond jacket over long black knit dress and a rain of feathers... or feathers of rain. The birds of Prevert, again.

Incredible giant black satin collar from which the body escapes, a shoulder, an arm, a breast. I am as I am.

I am made like this.

When I want to laugh

Yes, I laugh out loud.

Long black crepe backless sheath embroidered with silver and giant satin white Arum flower. I am made to please.

And cant change anything...

My heels are too high.

And my waist too curved.

I read Prevert and my hand loosens.

Corolla bodice,

Bubble jacket,

Circles, lines in the air, the pen glides. Takes flight.

Knit dresses with cutouts and sparkling skirts that propel,

wing beats of a black bird.

The quays.

Paris illuminated

Paris shines,

Paris enamoured.

Voila, my winter collection: black, pure essence, ink-stained whites, drawn as one writes, under the distant gaze of two poets.

MIAMI, June 6, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- This World Oceans Day, Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL) is celebrating the oceans it sails by partnering with Inter Miami CF to sponsor six months' worth of coral restoration expeditions with Rescue a Reef. The citizen science program run by the University of Miami Rosenstiel School will help provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for local South Florida communities to contribute to coral gardening and reef restoration. The collaborative efforts will result in over a thousand coral colonies being planted by locals onto the reefs just miles from Miami's shoreline.

To mark World Oceans Day, Royal Caribbean Group and research divers from Rescue a Reef welcomed Inter Miami's midfielder and Miami native, Benjamin Cremaschi on a coral restoration expedition. Cremaschi and Nick Rose, vice president, head of ESG, Royal Caribbean Group, teamed up to dive into "Royal Caribbean Group Reef", a new coral restoration site for research and rehabilitation. Working together they laid the groundwork that will build up lively neighborhoods of coral colonies that provide shelter, food and nursery areas for numerous marine species.

"Spending a big part of my life around our oceans, first as part of a Navy family and then starting my career as a shipboard environmental officer, I know first-hand how important it is to keep our oceans healthy to sustain our planet," said Nick Rose, vice president, head of ESG at Royal Caribbean Group. "It was an incredible experience to come together with Benjamin and expert researchers to protect the beauty of the oceans and to be able to create opportunities for our local communities to join us."
