The founder of La Magnetique has developed a distinctive approach to contemporary dressing, combining pajama-inspired silhouettes with versatility and refined tailoring. Following recent industry recognition in Paris, she is expanding the brand’s presence in the United States.
On September 30, 2026, fashion designer Kateryna Frumina, founder of La Magnetique, received the Best Conceptual Designer award at the VUGA TV Award 2026, held at La Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris. Her label explores the intersection of comfort and contemporary tailoring, reinterpreting pajama-inspired silhouettes through distinctive cuts, expressive colors and carefully considered details.
The Designers category also recognized Anna Rud of ANNA SOUL, Anna Sarkisian of ARWEN, Yuliia Volosovych of lev•i•Rosa and Olga Stopycheva of STOPYCHEVA BRAND. The ceremony was hosted by VUGA TV presenter Anna Sashina. For Frumina, the award adds to a series of professional milestones dating back to the launch of La Magnetique in 2015.
A decade of recognition
Frumina introduced La Magnetique in Kyiv in 2015 and won a European Fashion Union competition in Budapest that year. In 2024, she received the Travel to Art Award in the category “Best Fashion Designer & Creative Director.” In 2025, she presented her work at Florida Men’s Fashion Week in Miami and later returned for the November season. She has also served on the juries of Paris Fashion Air, Florida Men’s Fashion Week and the Follow Your Heart International Film Festival, and became an executive member of Fashion Group International’s New York chapter.
The fashion press has followed. The Ukrainian editions of the world’s leading fashion titles, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and L’Officiel, have all featured her and the brand, and online fashion publications covered her runway seasons in Miami. The pattern is hard to miss: a designer who is repeatedly chosen to show is then asked to evaluate the work of others, a sign that the industry trusts her eye as well as her collections.
On January 10, 2026, about 300 guests at the Hilton Miami Aventura watched La Magnetique open the fashion presentation at the Follow Your Heart festival, in printed, pajama-inspired suits, some trimmed with feathers, while Frumina served on the festival jury.
The brand: comfort as couture
La Magnetique reinterprets the pajama set through the lens of contemporary tailoring. Structured silhouettes, expressive prints and tactile details—including feather trim on selected pieces—give the relaxed form a more polished character. The collection is designed to move across different settings: a casual morning, a business meeting, a resort dinner or a special occasion. Styling and accessories can shift the look without changing its essential character. The brand’s guiding idea is simple: “one wardrobe, endless occasions.”
“It’s all about giving women freedom. Freedom to move, freedom to express themselves, and freedom to change. I don’t believe a woman should ever feel restricted by her clothes.” — Kateryna Frumina, in a 2025 interview with New York Wire
Clients have also highlighted the collection’s combination of comfort and visual structure. One Ukrainian media personality describes the designs as distinctive and technically considered, while a public relations founder praises their comfort during long events and their ability to maintain a defined silhouette on camera.
What leading designers see
Designers familiar with La Magnetique point to a consistent creative direction: combining relaxed silhouettes with structure, versatility and a recognizable visual identity. Rather than treating comfort as a compromise, the collection places it at the center of contemporary dressing.
The founder of an established Ukrainian fashion house calls the collections the work of “a designer with a distinct authorship, not merely competent execution,” praising their “refined construction, coherent creative direction, and a contemporary approach to elegance.” A leather-goods designer points to the concept itself: La Magnetique “stood out from the very beginning due to its original concept,” a reinterpretation of pajama and loungewear aesthetics within the designer segment, and she singled out the “intellectual minimalism, silhouette clarity, and well-structured visual narrative” of the November 2025 collection. A swimwear founder in Houston highlights the ability to “merge aesthetic design with functional and structural innovation.” Producers of Florida Men’s Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Air, who have seen her both as a designer and as a juror, describe her as a visionary and credit her with an ability to merge innovation with professionalism.
At the heart of La Magnetique is a practical proposition: clothing can combine comfort, adaptability and a distinctive silhouette. By building its collections around that idea, the brand offers its own interpretation of modern femininity—one that prioritizes how women move through their daily lives as well as how they dress for particular occasions.
Building a Presence in America
Frumina is now building La Magnetique in the United States. In 2025 she established La Magnetique LLC, a U.S. company intended to expand the brand’s presence through showrooms, fashion platforms and commercial partners, and in May 2026 the brand received federal trademark registration. Producers of fashion-week showcases in New York and Milan have approached the brand about showing, and she has already presented in Miami with a local team of models, stylists and makeup artists and a Hilton hotel as venue partner.
As La Magnetique expands its presence in the United States, the brand aims not only to strengthen its position in the American market but also to build long-term relationships with local customers, retailers, and fashion industry partners. Its philosophy, centered on versatility, comfort, and thoughtful design, provides a strong foundation for connecting with modern American women and meeting their evolving needs. La Magnetique’s expansion comes at a time when the creative economy plays a significant role in American economic and cultural life. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, arts and cultural industries contributed $1.17 trillion in value added to the U.S. economy in 2023, representing 4.2% of GDP and supporting 5.4 million jobs[1]. Women-owned firms number 14.5 million and generate $3.3 trillion in receipts, according to a 2024 report cited by the National Women’s Business Council[2]. As a woman-founded design house, La Magnetique contributes to this landscape by developing its collections, presenting runway shows, and building partnerships within the United States. The brand’s impact also extends beyond the fashion industry itself. Fashion events generate economic activity for local communities by supporting hotels, restaurants, event venues, and other related businesses. For example, the organizers of Miami Swim Week estimate that the event generates $75 million in economic impact[3]. Similarly, each La Magnetique presentation creates opportunities to collaborate with local models, stylists, beauty professionals, production teams, and venues, contributing to the broader American creative economy.
At the same time, La Magnetique’s U.S. expansion creates an opportunity to introduce the work of an Eastern European designer to new audiences. The brand’s combination of versatile silhouettes, comfort, and considered construction establishes a distinctive identity and a clear point of differentiation in the market. By developing relationships with American retailers, fashion professionals, and potential business partners, La Magnetique aims to strengthen its market presence while contributing to a broader exchange of creative perspectives, cultural influences, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
“I always say: we’re not just dressing women, we’re celebrating them. Every fold, every line, every transition in the garment should support the transitions happening within her.” — Kateryna Frumina
After more than a decade of developing La Magnetique and presenting its collections to international audiences, Frumina is now focused on growing the brand in the United States. Kateryna Frumina’s work reflects an important opportunity in contemporary fashion: creating pieces that combine a recognizable design identity with versatility and real-world wearability. What distinguishes La Magnetique is its effort to transform the familiar language of loungewear into a more refined, adaptable wardrobe. As the brand expands into the U.S. market, its success will depend on how effectively it translates that concept into a consistent product offering and meaningful relationships with customers. The foundation is distinctive; the next step is turning that distinction into lasting market recognition.
